Bowel Conditions We Treat
at Inland Pelvic Health

Bowel changes like constipation, urgency, or incontinence can deeply affect daily life.

At Inland Pelvic Health, our pelvic therapists treat the full spectrum of bowel dysfunction in men and women—addressing the root cause and restoring function with compassionate, expert care.

Bowel Conditions We Treat

Chronic Constipation

Constipation is often linked to pelvic floor muscle coordination, abdominal wall tension, or gut motility issues. We assess and treat mechanical and neurological contributors to support more regular, complete bowel movements.

Fecal Urgency

When you feel an urgent need to go—often without warning—it may be related to pelvic muscle coordination, nerve sensitivity, or inflammation. Our team retrains your system for better control and fewer “panic moments.”

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

IBS often presents with pain, bloating, and unpredictable bowel patterns. We work alongside your GI team to treat visceral hypersensitivity and optimize bowel coordination through pelvic therapy.

Incomplete Bowel Emptying

If you feel like you can’t fully empty your bowels, pelvic floor restriction or abdominal tension may be involved. We evaluate muscle balance, mobility, and coordination to help you achieve full evacuation.

Postpartum Bowel Dysfunction

After birth, bowel symptoms may emerge from perineal trauma, nerve irritation, or pelvic floor strain. We specialize in helping new moms restore bowel function with expert postpartum care.

Fecal Incontinence

Leaking stool or gas isn’t just a gut issue—it’s often related to pelvic floor dysfunction. We address muscle strength, timing, and rectal sensitivity to help you regain control and confidence.

Diarrhea-Predominant Bowel Dysfunction

Frequent loose stools may be tied to gut motility changes or underlying pelvic floor tension. We use manual therapy, visceral mobilization, and relaxation techniques to support bowel regulation and reduce urgency.

Pelvic Floor Dyssynergia

When the pelvic floor muscles don’t coordinate properly during a bowel movement, it can feel like you're straining without success. We use biofeedback and muscle retraining to restore normal emptying.

Rectal Prolapse

Prolapse involves descent or internal folding of the rectum and can worsen constipation or leaking. Our gentle, supportive pelvic therapy improves structural support and addresses contributing factors.

Bowel Dysfunction in Men

Bowel symptoms in men—like constipation, urgency, or leakage—can stem from pelvic floor dysfunction, abdominal tension, or nerve issues. We provide targeted treatment with full respect for male anatomy and care needs.

Bowel symptoms don’t have to rule your life. We’re here to help.
